The colorful and kinetic “Wild Strawberry Eclipse” displays revolutionary Pop Artist Robert Rauschenberg's remarkable “combine” technique, which merges paint and objects. Ricocheting the observer’s line of vision from one panel to another, Rauschenberg (1925 – 2008) incorporates dazzling splashes of paint with urban photos to illustrate emotions provoked by city life. Considered as important as Andy Warhol, Rauschenberg became famous for enormous combines composed of paint, photos, fabric, tires, buckets and cardboard, as well as silk screens. The multitalented Rauschenberg also made huge strides in printmaking, choreography, set design and art-and-technology works.
